SPS 2026 trade fair to focus on Industrial AI and machine safety
The SPS trade fair, scheduled for November 24–26, 2026, in Nuremberg, Germany, will serve as a central hub for the international automation industry. The event is expected to feature approximately 1,175 exhibitors from 40 countries showcasing innovations in sensor technology, drive technology, industrial communication, and software.
A primary theme for the 2026 exhibition is Industrial AI, highlighting the transition of artificial intelligence from pilot projects to integrated components of modern production environments. The fair will also emphasize Software Defined Industry, focusing on data-driven production systems that enable scalable and networked manufacturing processes.
In addition to AI, the event will address machine safety and compliance, specifically regarding the new EU Machinery Regulation (MVO). Companies such as Pilz will demonstrate solutions for industrial security, including services to identify security vulnerabilities and new hardware like radar sensors for presence detection and IO-Link Safety systems for secure data transmission.
