Spuž prison investigation launched after inmate assault
The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica has launched an investigation into a physical conflict that occurred on August 1 at the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions in Spuž.
Unofficial reports suggest a brutal assault took place within a prison cell involving at least two inmates. One individual, identified in unofficial reports as Marko Pavićević, is suspected of attacking a cellmate with a television before using hands and feet. The prosecutor's office confirmed that a case has been opened but declined to provide specific details to protect the ongoing investigation.
The prison administration confirmed the conflict occurred and stated that those involved have received medical attention and are in stable condition. Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against the suspected participants. Pavićević has reportedly been linked to previous incidents at the Spuž facility, including a 2018 conflict.
