SpVgg Fürth fans raise over €200,000 for name change initiative

The initiative ‘Zurück zur SpVgg Fürth’ (Back to SpVgg Fürth) has successfully concluded its crowdfunding campaign, raising a total of €202,160. The campaign originally set a target of €150,000 to help offset the costs associated with reverting the club's name from SpVgg Greuther Fürth back to its traditional name, SpVgg Fürth.

According to organizers, the funds collected cover approximately half of the expected costs of the name change. The remaining expenses are reportedly already covered by membership fees collected over the last two years.

Club members are scheduled to vote on the matter during an extraordinary general meeting at Sportpark Ronhof on November 8, where they will decide whether to retain the ‘Greuther’ prefix or return to the original club name.
