Squad tactical shooter announced for PS5 and Xbox in 2027

Offworld Industries and Secret Mode have announced that the tactical first-person shooter Squad will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2027. The game, which has amassed over 10 million players since its PC debut, will feature 100-player battles divided into two 50-person teams.

Prior to the full console release, a free alpha test will be available for PlayStation 5 users from October 16 to October 25, 2026. The console versions will support cross-platform play, allowing users to engage in combat across different compatible platforms.

Squad focuses on combat realism, requiring high levels of coordination, communication, and tactical planning. Players utilize faction-specific weapons and vehicles to execute complex military maneuvers, distinguishing it from more arcade-style shooters.
