Square Enix acknowledges high expectations for upcoming Octopath Traveler 3

Square Enix has subtly hinted that a third entry in its Octopath Traveler series is in development, though the game has not been officially announced. In an interview, series producer Tomoya Asano said the team is aware that fan expectations for Octopath Traveler 3 are the highest to date.

The franchise, which debuted in 2018 and has sold over 7 million copies worldwide across titles such as Octopath Traveler, Octopath Traveler II, Octopath Traveler 0 and the mobile Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, is slated to appear on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 platform. The company’s acknowledgment is intended to build anticipation while no concrete details about release dates, platforms or features have been provided.
