Square Enix announces Final Fantasy VII: Revelation for spring 2027 release

Square Enix unveiled the final installment of its Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, titled Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, at the Summer Game Fest. The trailer confirmed a simultaneous global launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and the upcoming Switch 2, slated for spring 2027.

The game will feature an enhanced real‑time action‑strategy combat system, include Vincent Valentine as a playable character voiced by Matt Mercer, and allow instant world travel via the Highwind ship. Players will also be able to summon entities such as Ifrit while confronting Sephiroth alongside Cloud and the party in a climactic final battle.
