Final Fantasy VII Revelation set for April 8, 2027 release

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the concluding chapter of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, will be released on April 8, 2027. The game is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.

New gameplay details revealed during a State of Play broadcast highlight an expansive open world accessible via the Highwind airship and the Chocobo companion, Piko. The title introduces the Function-Integrated Tactical Suitwear (FITS) system, allowing characters to adopt specialized roles such as Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner to alter combat abilities. Players can also switch between party members dynamically during exploration.

Square Enix also confirmed a Story Expansion Pass containing two DLCs focusing on the characters Sephiroth and Vincent Valentine, alongside the Turks. Various editions are available for pre-order, including Standard, Deluxe, and a Collector’s Edition featuring character figurines. Notably, the Nintendo Switch 2 version is reported to require at least 130 GB of storage space.
