Final Fantasy VII Revelation Square Enix video game release DLC remake trilogy

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the concluding chapter of the remake trilogy, will launch on April 8, 2027. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

New gameplay details include the FITS system, which allows party members to adopt specific jobs such as Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner. Director Naoki Hamaguchi noted that the project aims to modernize the franchise for new generations.

Two story-driven DLC expansions, titled ‘Sephiroth’ and ‘Vincent & the Turks’, are planned for release between winter 2027 and spring 2028. These will be included in premium editions or available via an Expansion Pass.

Physical editions have drawn scrutiny due to high storage requirements and digital dependencies. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will use a Game Key Card format, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox versions may require significant additional internet downloads. Additionally, the high-priced Collector’s Edition and Deluxe Edition for PlayStation 5 have already sold out in the Square Enix Store with no plans for restocking.
