Square Enix Collective to publish Vaultbreakers by BetaDwarf

Square Enix Collective has announced a publishing partnership with Danish developer BetaDwarf for the upcoming extraction action-RPG, Vaultbreakers. Following a 2025 investment by Square Enix, this agreement expands their collaboration.

A free demo is currently available on Steam, allowing players to experience the game's combat mechanics in a PvE setting. The demo features two playable heroes, the elven archer Nymera and the ice-wielding warrior Bjornir, and supports solo or three-player cooperative play. While the current demo focuses on fighting computer-controlled enemies, the full game is designed as a PvPvE experience where players must retrieve artifacts from dangerous zones and escape before losing their loot.

An alpha test scheduled for October 15 to 22 is expected to showcase the PvPvE elements and include three additional heroes. The game also features base-building mechanics, where players transform a ruined haven into a fortified stronghold to unlock new abilities and resources.
