Square Enix ends DLC partnership with Futurlab and announces Final Fantasy VII Revelation release

Square Enix announced that its publishing agreement with British studio Futurlab will conclude in June 2024. As a result, two free DLC packs for PowerWash Simulator – a Tomb Raider themed pack and a Midgar themed pack from Final Fantasy VII – will be removed from digital stores after May 19, 2024. Users who have already downloaded the content will retain access, while new downloads will no longer be possible. Futurlab noted that PowerWash Simulator’s sequel, planned for 2025, will be released independently.

At the Summer Game Fest, Square Enix revealed Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final installment of the celebrated remake series. The game is scheduled for a spring 2027 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The announcement highlighted new gameplay features, an expanded hybrid combat system, and the inclusion of characters such as Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind.
