Square Enix hires loremaster for Kingdom Hearts series

Square Enix has hired a dedicated loremaster to manage the increasing narrative complexity of the Kingdom Hearts series. Director Tetsuya Nomura revealed in an interview that the growing number of characters and expanding media, such as the newly announced anime series, have made maintaining story cohesion more difficult.

The specialist, who previously worked on the ‘χ series’, serves as a proofreader to ensure no inconsistencies exist between new scripts and established settings. A key part of the role involves communicating complex scenarios to Disney using diagrams and organized materials to ensure all external collaborators remain aligned with the franchise's lore.
