Square Enix leak hints at story expansion DLC for Final Fantasy VII Revelation
A data leak from the Epic Games Store database revealed that Square Enix has listed a "Story Expansion Pass" and placeholders for up to nine additional DLC packages for the upcoming game Final Fantasy VII Revelation. The entries, detected by third‑party tracking tools, suggest the company may extend the narrative beyond the base game.
Fans have speculated that the new content could draw from related titles such as Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, or bring back characters like Genesis from Crisis Core. Square Enix has not confirmed any post‑launch story expansions, and director Naoki Hamaguchi previously noted that any future DLC would depend on fan support. The final chapter of the FFVII remake trilogy is scheduled for release in spring 2027 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
