Square Enix may revive classic SNES RPG Terranigma

Square Enix may be preparing to revive the classic SNES action RPG Terranigma. Evidence for a potential comeback emerged from a teaser released by Clear River Games for the upcoming Pixel Arcadia Showcase, scheduled for August 24.

The teaser contains several specific references to the original Quintet title, including an arranged version of the track ‘Prayer’ and a quote from the game’s fourth chapter: ‘Wake up! All the living things in the world await your awakening!’. The video also features the names of Square Enix, Quintet, and Kamui Fujiwara.

While the exact nature of the release remains unconfirmed, it could take the form of a conversion, a remaster, or a full remake. The Pixel Arcadia Showcase is expected to focus on retro gaming, including re-releases and HD remakes.
