Square Enix ports Final Fantasy XIV to Nintendo Switch 2

Square Enix has successfully ported the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMO) Final Fantasy XIV to the Nintendo Switch 2. The handheld version allows players to experience the title in a portable format, including various dungeons and alliance raids.

For new players, a free trial is available that includes the base game along with the Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers expansions. This trial allows users to play numerous jobs up to level 80 with minimal restrictions. While the transition from PC to controller-based handheld play requires some adjustment, the port is considered a successful implementation of the expansive game on the new hardware.
