Square Enix removes Denuvo DRM from Dragon Quest VII Reimagined PC version
Square Enix announced that the PC version of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined on Steam will run without the Denuvo anti‑piracy system. The February 2026 release, developed with HexaDrive, now offers a native, DRM‑free experience that the publisher says improves performance and long‑term preservation. Community response has been positive, with the game holding an 88 % approval rating on Steam.
A third‑party repack labeled “Denuvoless” that includes the Digital Deluxe edition and nine DLCs is also circulating online. The FitGirl‑style package compresses the original 6.2 GB installer to about 4.7 GB, provides integrity checks, and claims to be a lossless copy of the official files, offering a smaller download for users seeking the DRM‑free version.
