Square Enix RPGs rumored for Nintendo Switch 2

Reports suggest that two prominent role-playing games from Square Enix, NieR: Automata and NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139..., may be released for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console.

According to leaks from industry insider Nash Weedle, these titles could arrive on the new hardware, potentially featuring technical improvements such as higher resolution and faster loading times made possible by the console's superior capabilities. While NieR: Automata was a major success in 2017 with over ten million copies sold, it has not yet been available on Nintendo platforms due to the technical limitations of the original Switch.

Square Enix has not officially confirmed these rumors, and details regarding release dates, specific enhancements, or whether existing owners of the current Switch versions will receive updates remain unknown. Additionally, the leaks indicate that a new NieR project is currently in development, though no platform or release details have been disclosed.
