Square Enix Announces Final Fantasy VII Revelation for Spring 2027
At the Summer Game Fest 2026, Square Enix revealed Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final entry in its long‑running remake trilogy. The game is scheduled for a worldwide launch in spring 2027, coinciding with the series’ 30th anniversary, and will debut simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
Revelation will continue the story from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, following Cloud and his allies as they battle the planet‑wide threat of Sefirot and the destructive magic Meteo. Players can traverse the entire world using the iconic Highwind airship, landing anywhere with seamless transitions between air and ground. The title introduces new playable characters Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind, a new “TRAJE” outfit system that grants classic job abilities, and expanded minigame and side‑content options with adjustable difficulty.
Producer Yoshinori Kitase described the release as the culmination of three decades of work, while director Naoki Hamaguchi and creative director Tetsuya Nomura highlighted the project’s scale and the team’s commitment to delivering a satisfying conclusion for fans.
