Square Enix to make Final Fantasy VII Revelation Platinum trophy easier
Square Enix director Naoki Hamaguchi has announced that the Platinum trophy for the upcoming title Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be more accessible than its predecessor, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
During Rebirth, the development team intentionally designed a difficult trophy path to encourage players to master all combat systems and explore all content. However, this resulted in a low completion rate of approximately 2.6%. Hamaguchi noted that while the difficulty was by design, the team underestimated the number of players pursuing the Platinum trophy.
For Revelation, the philosophy is shifting toward making combat more enjoyable rather than just challenging. The goal is to increase the Platinum completion rate to 20% or higher by avoiding excessively long or frustrating tasks used solely to artificially inflate difficulty. While the trophy will be easier to obtain, the game will still feature strategic challenges, such as potential new VR battles and combat scenarios requiring careful character deployment.
