Square Enix to showcase Final Fantasy VII Revelation at Gamescom

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final installment of the remake trilogy, will be featured at the Gamescom Opening Night Live event on August 25, 2026. The presentation, hosted by Geoff Keighley, will include a deep dive into the game led by director Naoki Hamaguchi.

Hamaguchi stated that the main story of the trilogy will conclude within the base game rather than through post-launch DLC. He noted, “The story will end within the main game. We are committed to finishing the Final Fantasy 7 Revelation series and are developing with that goal in mind.” However, he mentioned that future DLC could potentially focus on side stories for specific characters, similar to previous episodic content.

The game is currently slated for a release in the spring of 2027. The Gamescom presentation is expected to provide new gameplay details and deeper insights into how the trilogy will conclude.
