Square Enix to shut down Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis

Square Enix has announced that the free-to-play mobile and PC title, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, will officially shut down on October 7, 2026. The service will become inaccessible at 8:00 AM CET on that date.

In an official statement, the development team noted that while they worked to provide the best experience possible, “current conditions make it difficult to continue,” leading to the decision to end the service. All in-game currency purchases have already been suspended.

Despite the upcoming closure, Square Enix confirmed that planned updates and in-game events will continue to be distributed until the final deactivation of the servers. The game, which launched in September 2023, featured episodic content from the Final Fantasy VII compilation.
