Srđan Perić challenges Podgorica Mayor to public debate
Srđan Perić, President of the Podgorica City Assembly, has criticized Mayor Saša Mujović regarding the transparency of local governance and the inclusion of citizens in decision-making processes.
Perić accused the Mayor of favoring a 'partitocracy'—where party interests supersede citizen needs—over democratic principles. He argued that the city's Statute and Rules of Procedure mandate public consultation and transparency. Perić specifically highlighted that citizens should be involved in decisions concerning school locations, public spending, and urban development.
In response to the ongoing dispute, Perić has called for a public debate between himself and Mujović to allow citizens to clearly understand the differing political stances and intentions of the city's leadership.
