Srbija centar protests demolition of Belgrade youth center
The Srbija centar (Srce) party has issued a strong condemnation regarding plans to demolish the former IMT Youth and Sports Center located in the Senjak neighborhood of Belgrade.
The party's Savski venac municipal committee stated that the site is intended for the construction of a new 11-level high-rise building. The proposed structure would include two underground levels, a ground floor, seven residential or commercial floors, and an attic.
Srbija centar is demanding that competent authorities immediately make all planning and project documentation, investor information, and urban parameters available to the public. The party criticized the move as 'investor urbanism,' arguing that public spaces for youth and sports are being sacrificed for real estate profit at the expense of the quality of life and local infrastructure.
