Srebrenica Memorial Center opens exhibition honoring women's voices

The Srebrenica Memorial Center in Potočari has opened a new exhibition titled ‘ONA, SREBRENICA – Women Voices in Memory’. The exhibition focuses on the experiences, testimonies, and lifelong struggles of the women of Srebrenica in their pursuit of truth regarding the genocide.

Through personal stories and photographs, the display highlights how these women organized to demand answers about missing family members, participated in the identification and burial of remains, and testified before international courts. The exhibition also marks the 23rd anniversary of the Memorial Center’s operations as an institution dedicated to research, documentation, and education.

The event featured remarks from Director Dr. Emir Suljagić and Munira Subašić, who emphasized that behind historical statistics lie individual lives and families. The exhibition was realized with financial support from the British Council and the Government of the United Kingdom.
