Srebrenica Mothers associations warn of unauthorized X profile
The Association 'Pokret Majke enklava Srebrenica i Žepa' and the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide have issued a warning regarding an unauthorized profile on the social media platform X named 'Majke Srebrenice'.
Representatives stated that the profile is not an official account and that Munira Subašić, the president of the association, is not the author of the political views, supports, and comments posted there. The associations noted that the profile continues to use the name 'Majke Srebrenice' and features photographs of Subašić and other members to create a false impression of authorship.
This issue was previously addressed in October 2023, but the associations report that the problem has recurred. They have called on the profile administrators to stop using their members' images and have announced intentions to pursue criminal and other legal protections against the misuse of their identity and the victims of the genocide.
