SRF moderator Mario Grossniklaus declines ‘Arena’ succession

The search for a successor to Sandro Brotz for the SRF political program ‘Arena’ continues. Mario Grossniklaus has officially declined to apply for the role, stating via Instagram that he will not seek to succeed his colleague despite rumors.

Grossniklaus noted that he remains committed to his current role as an ‘Arena’ moderator and will soon face significant challenges regarding the election leadership of SRG and SRF.

In a poll conducted by Blick, Nathalie Christen emerged as a favorite among readers, receiving nearly 50 percent of the votes. Other potential candidates mentioned include Barbara Lüthi, Urs Gredig, and Nathalie Christen. SRF has stated that it will provide information regarding a successor in due course, noting that the focus is currently on an orderly transition. Sandro Brotz is expected to continue moderating the program until mid-January 2027.
