SRG SSR reports cyberattack affecting 340 employees
The Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR has reported a cyberattack in which unauthorized individuals accessed the data of approximately 340 current and former employees of SRF. The breach primarily affects staff within the ‘Information’ unit of the SRF regional division.
The compromised information includes names, job titles, and professional contact details, as well as some private contact information. The data involved dates back to 2020. According to the broadcaster, there is currently no evidence that the stolen data has been published or misused.
SRG SSR stated that sensitive information, such as personal passwords, financial or banking data, journalistic sources, research data, and communication content, was not affected.
The company has since deactivated the compromised access points, implemented additional security measures, and filed a formal complaint. Internal and external specialists are working to investigate the cause of the attack and the full extent of the data involved.
