Sérgio Sacani and Rodrigo Silva to debate science and faith in Brasília

Sérgio Sacani and Rodrigo Silva are scheduled to participate in the Metrópoles Talks event in Brasília on October 29. Titled “Universo, fé e os grandes segredos da existência” (Universe, faith, and the great secrets of existence), the discussion will explore the intersections of astronomy, science, archaeology, history, and the Bible.

Sacani, a prominent science communicator and creator of Space Today, will address topics such as the origin of the universe and the possibility of life beyond Earth. He has noted that while there are indications of microorganisms in the solar system, he does not believe intelligent life exists elsewhere.

Rodrigo Silva, a professor and director of the Museum of Biblical Archaeology, will provide perspectives on historical and archaeological investigations of biblical narratives. The debate is expected to cover the existence of God and the limits of human knowledge.
