Firefighters from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) battled a blaze that covered more than five acres in Jalan Bungkang, Sri Aman, on 31 August. The incident was reported at 1:41 pm, approximately 2 kilometres from the local fire station.
The operation, led by PBK I (TBK I) Noor Faqri Akmal, involved personnel from a fire and rescue tender and Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle. To combat the large area, firefighters utilized two water nozzles, 600 feet of divider branch, and 400 feet of attack hose. A relay system was also implemented using a machinery tank and a water transport pump to maintain a consistent water supply.
The fire was eventually brought under control and completely extinguished. Officials noted that a lack of an adequate water source was the primary difficulty encountered during the suppression efforts.
