Pakistan and Sri Lanka announce squads for upcoming cricket series

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced its squads for an upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka and an ODI tri-series featuring Sri Lanka and England. Sahibzada Farhan has been appointed captain for the three-match T20I series, which begins October 9 in Rawalpindi. Shaheen Shah Afridi will retain the captaincy for the ODI tri-series starting October 18.

Notable changes in the Pakistan squad include the omission of Salman Ali Agha from the T20I leadership and the exclusion of Babar Azam from the T20I roster. Razaullah has earned a maiden white-ball call-up following strong Test performances.

Sri Lanka has also named a 16-member squad for the ODI tri-series, led by Kusal Mendis. The Sri Lankan selection features the return of opener Avishka Fernando and the inclusion of Sahan Arachchige, following the exclusion of Charith Asalanka and the injury to Wanindu Hasaranga. The tri-series matches will be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore, concluding with a final on October 31.
