Sri Lanka promotes hospitality and investment projects in Maldives and Malaysia
Sri Lanka is conducting a series of international economic diplomacy efforts to attract foreign investment and expand its market presence in the hospitality and industrial sectors.
In the Maldives, the Sri Lanka Export Development Board and the Sri Lanka–Maldives Business Council facilitated the participation of Sri Lankan companies at Hotel Asia 2026. The delegation represented various segments of the hospitality supply chain, including food and beverage, hotel supplies, furniture, engineering, wellness, construction materials, and technology. The initiative aimed to connect Sri Lankan businesses with Maldivian buyers and government representatives.
Simultaneously, Sri Lanka showcased ready-to-invest projects at the 6th Selangor Investment & Industrial Park Expo (SPARK 2026) in Malaysia. Supported by the Board of Investment, the Sri Lankan High Commission presented opportunities in energy, tourism, ICT, manufacturing, agriculture, shipping, logistics, and real estate to attract foreign direct investment from Malaysian investors.
