Sri Lanka promotes textile hub status at Intex-InMac 2026 and Italian investment forum
Sri Lanka is preparing to host the Intex-InMac 2026 exhibition, a major industry event aimed at positioning the island as a regional hub for textile sourcing and manufacturing. The expo will bring together local and international suppliers, buyers and technology providers to showcase innovations, ethical and sustainable production, and to foster new trade partnerships as the country seeks to boost foreign‑exchange earnings and employment.
In parallel, a business forum in Milan organized by the Sri Lankan consulate and Italian trade bodies highlighted growing Italian interest in Sri Lanka’s apparel sector. Sri Lanka’s ambassador to Italy, Satya Rodrigo, and Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe outlined reforms to improve the investment climate, while Riccardo Romani of Oniverse praised the country’s manufacturing capabilities and signaled intent to explore further investment and participation in the upcoming Sri Lanka Expo 2027.
