Sri Lanka to host major 2026 summits on FinTech and economic investment
Sri Lanka is preparing to host two major summits in 2026 aimed at driving economic renewal and digital innovation.
The Asia FinTech Network (AFTN) has announced the Sri Lanka FinTech Summit, scheduled for September 16–17, 2026. This event seeks to establish the nation as a digital finance hub in South Asia by bringing together over 500 delegates from more than 25 countries. The summit will feature policymakers, central bank leaders, and international investors to discuss technological advancements, such as the National Instant Payments Platform and LankaQR networks.
In a parallel effort to bolster economic resilience, the country will also host the Economic and Investment Summit 2026. This gathering focuses on attracting foreign direct investment, strengthening fiscal discipline, and diversifying the economic base following recent periods of financial turbulence. The summit aims to signal to the international community that Sri Lanka is committed to structural reforms and is open for business.
