Sri Lankan minority youth complete leadership training in India

A delegation of 28 minority youths from various backgrounds in Sri Lanka recently completed a five-day training programme in Noida, India. The program, titled ‘Innovative Leadership for Organization Growth and Excellence’ (ILOGE), was hosted by the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), an organization under India’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

The initiative is part of a broader agreement to provide 700 customized training slots annually for Sri Lankan professionals, following an announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his April 2025 state visit to Sri Lanka. The curriculum focused on leadership styles, entrepreneurship, emotional intelligence, climate leadership, and community resilience.

Participants were tasked with creating ‘Back Home Action Plans’ to implement their new skills within their local communities. The training also included a cultural immersion tour to Agra, featuring visits to the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.
