Sri Lankan Rupee declines against US Dollar

The Sri Lankan Rupee has experienced depreciation against the US Dollar. In the spot market, the rupee concluded trading at a rate of 328.70/329.00 against the US Dollar, down from the previous day's rate of 328.25/30.00.

Commercial bank rates show varied movement. At Seylan Bank and NDB Bank, the US Dollar selling rates remained steady, with Seylan Bank at Rs. 334.00 and NDB Bank at Rs. 332.75. Other institutions, including People’s Bank, Commercial Bank of Ceylon, and Sampath Bank, reported slight increases in both buying and selling rates.

In the bond market, yields remained relatively stable with some minor fluctuations. Yields for bonds maturing in 2027, 2032, 2033, and 2034 saw increases, while the yield for the bond maturing in 2029 remained unchanged.
