Sri Lankan student arrested in Japan after fatal stabbing

An 18-year-old Sri Lankan student has been arrested in Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture, following the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old Sri Lankan student. The incident occurred on the morning of Tuesday, August 11, at a shared residence.

The victim, identified as Jayakody Arachchilage Praveen Isuru, died after being hospitalized with a sharp knife wound to his abdomen. The suspect reportedly notified emergency services himself after the attack and was arrested on the spot by Nagareyama police.
