Sri Lankan students achieve success in Grade 5 Scholarship Examination
The results of the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination have highlighted individual and institutional academic successes in Sri Lanka. W. B. M. Danoj Thikshana Weerasekara, a student at Mahawa Ehethuwewa Model Primary School, secured the highest marks in the country with a score of 193.
Danoj attributed his success to the support of his teachers, his principal, and his family, specifically noting the encouragement from his father and his elder sister. He expressed an ambition to attend a leading school and eventually become an engineer.
In a separate achievement, Kandangamuwa Primary School in the Galewela Education Zone reported that both of its Grade 5 pupils passed the scholarship examination. This marks the school's first successful results since 2019. Teacher Rukshan Sugandha, who led the small class, described the milestone as a significant personal and collective achievement for the school community.
