Sri Lanka's Dewmi Vihanga ruled out of Women's T20 Asia Cup

Sri Lankan all-rounder Dewmi Vihanga has been ruled out of the Women's T20 Asia Cup 2026 due to a right knee injury sustained during a team practice match. The injury prevented her from traveling with the squad to the United Arab Emirates.

Left-arm spinner Nimasha Meepage has been named as her replacement in the 15-member squad. Meepage, who made her T20I debut in December 2025, has appeared 14 times for Sri Lanka across all formats.

The defending champions will be led by captain Chamari Athapaththu, with Harshitha Samarawickrama serving as vice-captain. Sri Lanka is placed in Group B alongside Bangladesh, Indonesia, and hosts UAE, with their opening match scheduled against the UAE on August 29.
