Sri Mulyani Appointed Independent Co‑Chair of World Bank IDA Replenishment

Former Indonesian finance minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has been selected as the Independent Co‑Chair of the World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA) for its 22nd replenishment cycle. She will share the role with World Bank Managing Director Paschal Donohoe, overseeing the mobilisation of policy support and new financing for the poorest nations.

IDA, the World Bank’s concessional arm, provides zero‑interest loans and grants to 78 low‑income countries and has disbursed more than $632 billion since its 1960 inception. The IDA22 replenishment, a triennial fundraising round, will be launched at a mid‑term review in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in December 2026, with final donor commitments expected by December 2027. Sri Mulyani’s extensive experience in international development finance is expected to strengthen donor engagement and expand resources for poverty‑reduction projects worldwide.
