Sri Purwanti establishes halal Indonesian restaurant in Taipei
Sri Purwanti, an Indonesian migrant worker from Cilacap, Central Java, has successfully transitioned from a migrant worker to a culinary entrepreneur in Taipei, Taiwan. After working in Taiwan for over a decade, Purwanti utilized savings from her wages to establish Kedai Sri Rahayu, a halal Indonesian restaurant located in the Zhongzheng District near the Taipei Grand Mosque.
Purwanti identified a market need for authentic halal Indonesian cuisine after experiencing difficulty finding such food during her early years as a migrant worker. She managed her capital and savings through BRI banking services to fund her business venture. Her restaurant now serves the Indonesian diaspora and the local Muslim community in Taipei.
