The escapees, identified as Farman Khan, a resident of Rajasthan, and Mukhtar Ahmed Gujar, a resident of Anantnag, reportedly scaled the prison's front-side wall to flee.

Following the incident, security agencies have launched a massive manhunt across Jammu and Kashmir. The Kashmir Zone Police have issued lookout notices at all exit points of the region to prevent the fugitives from leaving.
