Srisuwan Janya petitions ECT to probe MP's donations to Bhumjaithai Party

Srisuwan Janya, leader of the Rak Chat Rak Phaendin organization, has filed a petition with the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) requesting an investigation into MP Suchada Sangtanasap, also known as 'Idea'. The petition concerns her donations to the Bhumjaithai Party, totaling 150,000 Baht across several dates in 2022 and 2023.

Srisuwan argues that these donations may violate the Organic Act on Political Parties B.E. 2560, specifically regarding the legality of donation sources. If violations are found, he is calling for the matter to be referred to the Constitutional Court to seek the dissolution of the Bhumjaithai Party.

The investigation also touches upon the significant wealth of Suchada and her husband, reported to be worth nearly 2,000 million Baht, including luxury assets such as a Mercedes-Maybach and high-value real estate. While Suchada reported an annual income of approximately 1.7 million Baht, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is currently conducting an in-depth probe into the origins of the couple's assets and their ability to service debts.
