Sárvár local officials face investigation over alleged budget fraud

Local opposition members in Sárvár have launched an investigation into Sportfólió Kft., a municipal company, following allegations of budget fraud. The move follows a public hearing regarding the company’s management and expenditures.

Concerns were raised regarding contracts awarded to legal professionals and associates of local politicians, including former county governor Zoltán Vámos and Member of Parliament Péter Ágh. Additionally, the company’s spending on vehicle operations, totaling 11 million forints, was scrutinized.

The municipal council voted to compel Mayor István Kondora to convene an extraordinary meeting to review the company’s operations and consider the suspension of manager Endre Polgár pending further investigation.
