S.S. Lazio historical milestones: Supercoppa win and Trofeo Carranza

Historical retrospectives highlight significant milestones for S.S. Lazio in international and domestic competitions.

On August 8, 2009, Lazio secured the Supercoppa Italiana in Beijing. Despite being underdogs against Inter Milan, the team, led by Davide Ballardini, won the match. Goals from Francelino Matuzalem and captain Tommaso Rocchi secured the victory, with Samuel Eto’o scoring a late goal for Inter.

In a separate historical event on August 7, 1999, Lazio participated in the Trofeo Carranza in Spain. After a 2-2 draw against Real Betis, which included goals from Veron and Mihajlović, the match proceeded to a penalty shootout. Real Betis ultimately won the shootout 6-4.
