SS Lazio shares investigation: Banca del Fucino executives searched

Italian authorities are investigating an alleged market manipulation scheme targeting SS Lazio. Carabinieri conducted searches involving Luigi Bisignani, as well as Banca del Fucino president Mauro Masi and CEO Francesco Maiolini.

Prosecutors from the Rome District Anti-Mafia Directorate suspect a coordinated effort to spread false information to influence the club's share price. The allegations include claims that owner Claudio Lotito was planning an imminent sale of his controlling stake and false reports suggesting he intended to deliberately demote the team to a lower league to secure a 35 million euro parachute payment.

Banca del Fucino has issued a statement denying any involvement in the investigation or any campaigns harmful to SS Lazio, asserting that the bank does not hold shares in the club. Mauro Masi has expressed his innocence and announced intentions to file a complaint for slander.
