SSC Bari's Future Moves Forward with De Laurentiis' Stadium Commitment
Mayor Vito Leccese of Bari announced his readiness to sign a concession for the San Nicola stadium after receiving a written response from club president Aurelio De Laurentiis. The response formalised three guarantees requested by the municipality, prompting the mayor to acknowledge the commitments as the first clear, written promises from the owners.
A guarantee committee, including magistrate Franco Cassano, will monitor the club’s adherence to the commitments. Pierpaolo Marino has been appointed as the club’s new general manager, tasked with steering SSC Bari back to Serie A and preparing the club for eventual sale. The owners will also create a data room with financial and corporate documents to attract potential investors.
The mayor’s signed letter confirms the stadium’s availability for Bari’s home matches, a key condition for the club’s upcoming league registration. De Laurentiis described the agreement as a “surrender” of the letter but pledged to pursue new management, a formal search for buyers, and ongoing dialogue with the city through the guarantee committee.
