SSC Bari's guarantee committee halted as bankruptcy hearing set for Sept. 3

The mayor of Bari, Vito Leccese, announced the temporary suspension of the Committee of Guarantee that was created to oversee the future of SSC Bari, less than a month after its formation. The decision was taken because of the ongoing bankruptcy proceeding against club president Luigi De Laurentiis.

A court hearing on the club’s request for judicial liquidation is scheduled for 3 September before the bankruptcy section of the Bari Tribunal. The city has also frozen the renewal of the five‑year concession for the San Nicola stadium, which the De Laurentiis family had applied for, pending the prosecutor’s investigation into alleged fraudulent bankruptcy and false communications involving Luigi and Aurelio De Laurentiis.
