SSC Bari’s New Transparency Committee Formed to Oversee Club’s Ownership Transition

The mayor of Bari, Vito Leccese, has announced the creation of an eleven‑member independent Committee of Guarantee and Transparency to monitor the football club SSC Bari’s effort to exit its multi‑ownership structure. The committee will supervise the implementation of commitments pledged by club president Luigi De Laurentiis, including the search for a new corporate partnership, advisory activities and the appointment of new management.

Members include former judiciary and sports officials, academics and business leaders such as Francesco Cassano, Antonello Valentini, Umberto Fratino, Nicola Favia, don Angelo Cassano, Gaetano Sassanelli, Vincenzo Vito Chionna, Luciana Di Bisceglie, Isabella Cardone, Giuseppe Catalano and Antonio Di Gennaro. The body will operate autonomously from the municipality and the club, with municipal offices providing logistical support. Mayor Leccese thanked the members, saying they are offering “their time, experience and credibility free of charge” to ensure transparency for the city and the club’s fans.
