SSC Napoli celebrates centenary with fan festivals and 2‑0 pre‑season win

SSC Napoli marked its 100th anniversary on 1 August 2026 with a series of public festivities in the city and in the Alpine town of Dimaro Folgarida. The celebrations featured a procession through Piazza dei Martiri, a fireworks display, a large fan rally organized by the Ultras and a gathering of 40 Napoli clubs and more than 120 members of the Unione Azzurra Nel Mondo. Notable former players and staff were invited, while former coaches Maurizio Sarri and Luciano Spalletti missed the events due to commitments with Atalanta and Juventus.

During the same pre‑season camp, Napoli played a friendly against Carrarese on 14 July 2026 in Dimaro, winning 2‑0. Rasmus Højlund opened the scoring and Giovane converted a penalty to seal the result. Coach Massimiliano Allegri called the match a "good test", praised the squad’s intensity, and said the club remains vigilant in the transfer market. He also highlighted a shift in training philosophy toward more on‑field intensity and less tactical theory, a point reinforced by defender Leonardo Spinazzola.
