Napoli 100 centenary celebrations to light up the city on Aug 1

SSC Napoli, together with the Campania region and the municipality of Naples, will mark its 100‑year anniversary on 1 August with a city‑wide festival called “Napoli 100”. The programme begins at 19:26 h in Piazza Carità, where the bells of one hundred churches will ring simultaneously and a blue‑coloured smoke plume will signal the start. President Aurelio De Laurentiis, regional president Roberto Fico, mayor Gaetano Manfredi, the prefect and the questore will attend the ribbon‑cutting. A “Processione Azzurra” will then march through the historic centre – Via Toledo, Via Santa Brigida, Via Verdi, Via San Carlo and Piazza Trieste e Trento – ending at Piazza del Plebiscito.

The procession will be performed by 100 actors, 100 musicians and 100 children, recounting the club’s myth of Partenope and the city’s multicultural heritage. Simultaneously, a “Pizza Village” in Piazza Municipio will distribute thousands of free Margherita slices, with extra portions donated to vulnerable residents via the local food bank. The official ceremony at the Plebiscito will feature former club legends and current players, followed by a “Notte Azzurra” lighting the city’s landmarks in blue and a DJ set.

In parallel, the club unveiled its 2026‑27 away kit “Nápoles”, a white jersey with light‑blue detailing, a subtle striped pattern and the Gulf of Naples‑Vesuvius motif. The kit includes an NFC‑enabled “Authentic” patch for exclusive digital content and will be on sale from 24 July, celebrating the historic link between Naples and Argentina, especially Diego Maradona.
