Serie A transfer activity: Bologna and Napoli secure new signings

Italian Serie A clubs Bologna and Napoli are finalizing significant player transfers.

Bologna has reached an agreement with Fiorentina to sign striker Roberto Piccoli. The deal is structured as a loan with an obligation to purchase for approximately 18 million euros, plus 2 million in bonuses, contingent upon the club avoiding relegation. This move has triggered a transfer chain involving Fiorentina signing Mateo Pellegrino from Parma, while Parma has secured Argentine attacker David Romero from Tigre for roughly 8.5 million euros.

Napoli is set to sign defender Costantino Favasuli from Catanzaro. The deal is valued at approximately 7 million euros through a loan with an obligation to buy. Favasuli, born in 2004, is expected to sign a long-term contract that could extend up to eight years. As an 'Under' player, his arrival does not impact Napoli's limited 'Over' slots in the Serie A squad list. The club is also exploring defensive reinforcements, including potential interest in Benoit Badiashile from Chelsea, though such moves depend on further player departures like Romelu Lukaku and Miguel Gutierrez.
